Louisiana Broadcasters Recognizes KVPI-FM with Two Awards

For the seventh time, Louisiana Broadcasters recognized Ville Platte Broadcasting and KVPI-FM for its year- long community service by awarding the station the prestigious “Radio Station of the Year” honor. The event took place today (Tuesday) at the annual Prestige Awards luncheon in Baton Rouge sponsored by the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters. Accepting the award was John Pucheu, Vice President of Ville Platte Broadcasting Company, the parent company for KVPI AM and FM. The L.A.B. saluted the local station for its on -going commitment to local news, public service programming, local sports and Cajun French programming. KVPI-FM has been on the air since 1966 while its sister station, KVPI AM signed on in 1953.
The radio also won for “Best Morning Show” award presented to Stephanie Ware for her “Non Blonde Café with Steph” morning show heard Monday through Thursday from 9-12 noon. The show, which features celebrity interviews, contest giveaways and a special mix of music from the 70’s, 80 and 90’s has seen its on air and social media audience share grow considerably in the short time it has been on the air. On Wednesdays, Steph brings in her on air partner Lisa Crane for “Women on Wednesday”.
KVPI General Manager Mark Layne would like to thank Polly Johnson and her staff at the Louisiana Association of Broadcasters, our listeners and our great sponsors. “We have the greatest listeners and clients in the world who have been with us and supported us”, he said.
