Dixie Youth and Ville Platte Girls Opening Day Games Saturday

      The Ville Platte city league baseball and softball leagues begin play Saturday at the Ville Platte Recreational Complex. Every team with Dixie Youth and Girls Inc. will be competing in the opening day games. The officials, coaches and teams will be recognized during the opening ceremonies at 12:30pm. KVPI-FM 92.5 plans to cover the opening games along with two boys games and two girls games with sports announcer Thomas Scully.

    Here is the complete schedule of games:

In Dixie Youth games: 8:45am- Pitching Machine Aces vs. Bees and T Ball Cubs vs. Bees; at 10:00am- Pitching Machine Dots vs. Cubs and T Ball Falcons vs. Dots; at 11:15am-Pitching Machine Giants vs. Dots and T Ball Giants vs. Elks; 1:30pm- Dixie Majors Elks vs. Giants and T Ball Aces vs. Falcons;  3:30pm- Dixie Majors Falcons vs. Hawks; 2:45pm- Dixie Minors Aces vs. Bees; 4:00pm- Dixie Minors Cubs vs. Dots and 5:15pm- Dixie Minors Elks vs. Dots.

In Girls Softball action in the opening day games: 9:30am- Butterflies vs. Lovebugs and Crickets vs. Fireflies; 10:30am- Honeybees vs. Ladybugs and the Dragonflies vs. Fireflies; 1:00pm- Fawns vs. Chicks; 2;00pm- Kits vs. Fillies ; 3:0pm- Bunnies vs. Pups; 1:00pm- Sharks vs. Hurricanes; 2:15pm- Thunder vs. Eclipse and 3:30pm- Storm vs. Lightning.

    There is no admission charge. There will be a concession booth with food and drinks for sale. Come out and support our young people on Saturday.

The Louisana Swamp Pop Museum is operated by the City of Ville  Platte is open to the public every Friday and

Saturday from 10:00a.m. to 3:00p.m. Come view the amazing artifacts, photos,records, Wall of Fame and hear the music.
 

Admission charge is $3 adults,

$2 seniors and $1 for children under 12.
The museum is located on

Northwest Railroad Avenue.
