Baseball and Softball Update:

 

   Ville Platte 12 year old Dixie Majors beat Oakdale 15-3 in the Subdistrict tournament in Leesville clinching the championship. The team went through the entire tournament undefeated. They ended the tournament with 55 runs and 8 home runs. The Dixie Majors advance to play this weekend in Deridder in the District tournament. The first game is set for Thursday night at 7:30pm as they play Sulpher Continental. KVPI Sports is making arrangements to carry the games.

 The Mamou 13 and 14 year old boys all stars finished third in a warm up tournament this weekend. Their next tournament is scheduled in two weeks.

 In girls softball action at the Pony Softball Sectional tournament in Ville Platte where some 50 teams participated.

   The Ville Platte 6 and under girls went through the tournament undefeated. They beat Moss Bluff 16-15 to clinch the Sectional Championship.

    The Ville Platte 10 and under girls all stars clinched the championship title by beating Rayne 7-5. They went through the tournament undefeated.

   The Ville Platte 8 and under girls all stars came in second place losing to Rayne in the championship game.

   KVPI Sports did not receive any final scores on how the Ville Platte Red Hots girls team did in the tournament.

   In another girls score from a parish team, the Pine Prairie Dixie Belles beat Vernon International 16-15 last night for the district championship. Pine Prairie went through their tournament undefeated. The team advances to play in the state tournament in Oakdale on July 16.
